QMr F. N. Whiteombe, formerly resident in New Plymouth, and now practising in the dental profession at Taihape, is 011 a visit to this town.

Brooke, who hasjbecn appointed to the charge o£ the Wliiteley Memorial Church, arrived in New Plymouth by last night's excess, and with Mrs Brooke, and Master and Miss Brooke, was met by the stewards and ollicials of the Methodist congregation. A very enthusiastic meeting o£ church members supporters dec&lcd 011 Wednesday night to arrange a reception for the new minister, and lie will be accorded an odicinl welcome at • Wliiteley Hall oh Thursday "night next, when a te.i and public nißctinir will be held.
A very pretty -wedding was celebrated al Christ Church 1111 Tuesday, says the '• WttHgamii Herald," when Mr Stanley V. Head, of New IMyuiouth, was married lo.Miss Callieriue Hrennarn, eldest daughter of the bile Mr ll Brtmuan, of Feilding. The licv. T. IS. Maclean was the otliciating cleagyiyan. The bride, who was fflven away by her brother, Mr#. Brennan, looked charming in a beautifully embroidered dress jof while Indian lawn, with the usual veil and orange blossoms. She was attended by her sister, Mis* Janet Breunan,and Miss Ellio Head (sister of llie bridegroom), both of wlimn wore pretty white muslin dresses, with cardinal hats anil sashes, and carried beautiful shower beuquels of ferns and crimson cactus dahlias. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a gold muff chain, and to the bridesmaids gold bangles, while the bride's present to the bridegroom was a pair ot slcevclinks.
