RETURNING CONFIDENCE. Received 17, 9.7 p.m. New Yokk, April 17. Paul Norton, the president, states that although seventeen thousand three hundred and eighty five policies in the Equitable have lapsed owing to recent disclosures, holders are now applying for reinstatement at the rate of two .hundred daily.
