BRISK BETTING, Beceived 13, 10.10 a.m. / Sydney, April 12. The Doncastcr card was called at Tattersall's before a large attendance, Speculation was brisker and more general than tor quite a number of years. Prices offering at the close were 108 to 25 Maniapoto, 12 ts 1 FitzGrafton and Charles Stuart, 9 to 1 Little Toy, 8 to 1 Duke Melton, 7 to 1 Noreen, 6 to 1 Airloeli and Sleeper, 5 to 1 Roycroft, Befrain and Turgunn. Very little business was done on the Cup, beyond 1000 to 80 taken by Mr Crick about Ossian.
GOOD GALLOP BY MANIAPOTO. Beceived 13, 10.33 a.m. Sydney, April 13. The final gallops included some convincing performances. FitzGrafton did p, mile in 1.445. Maniapoto, from a standing start, made a similar record. Gladsome went onco round in 2.20. Machine Gun did four furlongs in I.Bs. Tartan covered a mile in the last half in 50}. [The Doncastcr Handicap, which is run at Bandwick (Sydney) to-day, possesses a considerable amount of interest to New Zealanders, as Maniapoto is considered to have an excellent elianee of securing the race, and considering the " lightening" track work he has been doing recently, it is not sjrprising that Soult's son holds such a prominent place in the belting. However, the Doncaster is a hard race to win, and I think if he is beaten it will be by Duko of Melton.—By " Motoboa,"]
