AUSTRALIAN PREMIERS' AGREEMENT. COMPREHENSIVE LOCK SCHEME. | FOB NAVIGATION AND IRRIGATION. Received 13, 10.10 a.m. Sydney, April 13. Iho Premiers have arrived at an arrangemont respecting the Murray waters.
Tho ba.-i.s U tknfc the channel ot the river will be locked at various points, between Blanchtown and Eohuea, and the Murrurabidgee from its junotion with the Murray, to Hay. The estimated cost is two and a-quarter million sterling, but the work is only to be proceeded with as it becomes apparent that irrigation requirements are interfering with navigation. In order to give South Australia greater facilities for navigation, Lake Victoria will be woired, and the water thus impounded will make the Murray navigable for three months longer than at present. The three States, South Australia | Victoria and New South Wales, share the expense equally. The Premiers meet on Monday to ratify the agreement.
