MR li. G. KNOWLES, A CELE. BRATED ENTERTAINER.
Mr It. C. Knowles' entertainment, to be held on Wednesday next at the Theatre Hoyal, is said to be based on the lines of that select and decidedly hunted circlo of the old world entertainers—Max O'Kell aud Mr George Grosmitli (if two can be called a circle) who, the English press remark, have in great comedian, a rival or an addition by no means to be despised. The foundation of all Mr Knowles" past work is humour—not humour merely of (the kitchen garden order—but humour created by the humorist himself and peculiar to his own style A successful man, he has had many imitators in his day, but no rival, lii the course of his entertainments will be discovered an embarrassment of fun, plenty of wit, a profundity of irressistible anecdote, sidc-splittiug story-telliug, piquanle mimicry—in short, not a dull uninteresting moment, Mrs It. G. Kuowles, a noted banjoist, will assist, aud special biographic illustrations of Mr Knowles' narratives will be disclosed. The success of the New Zealand tour was assured from the start, and recent business in Wellington was of such an exceptional nature that the season had to bo extended. The tour is under Mr J, C. Williamson's direction Popular prices will be charged, viz., 3s, 2s and Is. The plan is at the Collier and Colonial Piano Company.
