J. McCombe will ride Convoy in the Groat Easter and Autumn Handicaps.
Convoy is coming into great favor for the Great Autumn Handicap on account of his success at Tiinaru last week.
Martian, from a Hying start, cut out the Great Easter distance last week in 1.29 1-5.
Double betting on the two big events at Canterbury is fairly brisk. The winner of the Easter Handicap may come from Zetland, Apollodorh, Cross Battery, or Master Alix, but when the final payments have been made on Thursday, I shall endeavor to make a smaller selection.
At the Avoudale meeting Te Avoha looked in splendid fettle, but did not earn a winning bracket. Probably tlie daughter of Seaton Delavcl will run better at Ellerslic.
The following horses were shipped by the fiarawa on Monday to fulfil engagements at the A.11.C. Easter meeting : Marguerite, William 1,, Ito, Lyrist, Medallist, Mobility, Zimmerman, and Tambourina.
A. Oliver, the Porirna light-weight, will have the mount on Marguerite in the Easter Handicap at Auckland, in which event she figures at 7.8.
