The annual meeting of the Now Plymouth l-i ymuast if Society was liekl in the Whiteley lfall on Monday night, Mi' W. Ambury (president) presiding. There was a good attendance of members. The balance-sheet, which was adopted, showed receipts £2lßs 13d The principal items o£ expenditure was apparatus ,Clo. leaving a credit balance of £1 IDs Id. The following were elected : i'atron, His Worship the Mayor (Mr 1!. Cock), presid#nt, Mr W. Ambury ; vice-presi-dent: Messrs A. Ambury, N. K. McDiarmid, E. C. Bellringer, W 11. Skinner, C. Carter (re-elected), S. Shaw, A. l'ikett, 11. Black; secretary and treasurer, A. 1). Dixon; general committee : Messrs J. Amlmry, ,1. lleldt, C. Carter jnr., Harle, iiaueliope, Outran, and (trilliths. The subscription was fixed at 5s per term, (id for music additional. The committee subsequently decided to hold a, meotiug of ladies ou Tliursday I'Jth, at 7 p.m., with a view In orgauisiug I idies' classes. It was resolved to hold the opening practice ii. tlm Whiteley Hall gymnasium on Thursday lfttii. Practices will thereafter lie hold every Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
