ROAD BOARDS.
EGMONT. At the last ? meeting of the Egmont Koad Board, there were present: Messrs. T, Rowe (chairman), H. Martin, and E. IJavcy. The Treasury notified that the £SOO loan for Smart and Dorset roads was now available. Accounts were passed for payment, amounting to £3O 15s. The tendor of Mr J. C. Montefiore for forming and metalling on the Egmont Boad (upper) was accepted, and the same tendorer was authorised to patch the Egmont road from the railway crossing to Hills, the Board to pay royally and find a spreader. Mr Montofiofe's tender was accepted for metalling Dorset road, between the Egmont road and the pit, to connect the metal. Tonders will be called for work on Egmont road. BAREETT. The Barrett Eoad Board's last meeting was attended by Messrs. A. George (chairman), D. McAllum, and B. Honeyficld. Four weeks' extension of time was grunted to Messrs. I'ikett & Wilkio on their contract. The Chairman was authorised to attend to the matter of surface water mentioned by Mr Bcrridgo The tender of H. Kendall for supply of broken metal, at 9s per cubic yard, was accepted. Ihe engineers, Messrs. Sladden and Palmer, will be instructed to prepare plans for the Devon road extension not yet contracted for. Mr S Shaw was granted permission lo erect a hand-rail in front of his gate.
