, ; A COMPREHENSIVE PRO. * GRAMME. : -Beeeiyed 6,11.18 p.m. Sttwey, March 5. The Premier's Conference opened this afternoon, visitors being welcomed by the State Governor. All the States are represented excepting Westralia. ■**' 'Hr'Beilrin also takes part in portions of the discussions involving Federal matters. The agenda comprises fortynine subjects covering a very wide range, submitted by the different Statu, including tse exhibition, the holding of a combined exhibition in London, the admission of Norfolk Island to the ' Commonwealth, the appointment of a High Commissioner and a system of advertising the re- . souroes of the States, a Federal Agricultural Department, and bounties for rural industries. Received 6,12.28 a.m. Sydskt, April 5. Mr Carruthers was chosen president. ' The Press are excluded, and Mr Carruthers supplies a daily summary 'of business, done. The conference lasts a week. Some uncertainty exists as to whether Mr Seddon intends to come. No information has been received since his reply to the invitation when he promised, to attend if possible.
