TARANAKI TROTriNG CLUB, 'i'o-day marks, thn inaugural meeting of the Tarnnnki Trotting Club on the Vogcltowu course. Tlio novelty of the gatlicrmg-tjiere lias not been an exclnsivo trotting meeting here for several years— !S sure to attract a large attendance, and, as an additional attrac tion, the racing promises to be very interesting. Good fields are coming forward in most of tjie events,.in which well-known horses will compete, including several locally-owned trotters. The track is reported to be in good order, and all arrangements are well in hand. The course is situated on the property leased by Mr M. Jones, just at the back of Mr Perry's land, anil is. just about a mile and a-kalf fpom the town centre. 'Buses will run regularly throughout the day, and, for the convenience of .patrons riding or driving a largo accommodation paddock has been secured. Messrs. Angus and Thomson, the well-known New Plymouth caterers will have ' charge of the refreshment booth, Mr R. W. Dixon is the starter, and Mr F. M. Mills will occupy the judges box.
