AN ATTEMPTED MURDER.
AFFRAY AT DAY'S BAY. FEB PBESB ASSOCIATION. W Ellington, March 27. An affray took place at Day's Bay," on the eastern side of the harbor to-day, which resulted in Harry Bocquet, a Frenchman employed as waiter at the Kolburne Tea Kiosk, being placed under arrest, charged with attempted murder. Bocquot went to the Bay by the afternoon steamer and waited on Mrs Rcillo, the wife since Monday of a laborer living in that district. Immediately oa seeing her, it is alleged that he drew a revolver. The woman closed with him and endoavoured to gain possession of the weapon, and a desperate struggle was proceeding when her husband appeared on the scene and joined in the fight. Mrs Rcillo then retired from the struggle which was carried on by the two men, Bocqiet, it is alleged, fired at .Beille, but the rerolver mis-tired and licille succeeded in obtaining possession of the weapon, Booquet waß arrested on the arrival of the evening steamer in town,
