AUSTRALIAN COAL MINES.

MORE TROUBLE BREWING. Received 26,1 H.m. Sydsey, March 25. Important developments have taken place in the Northern coal district, resulting in a combine of twenty-four out of thirty collieries. It is anticipated the selling price of coal will be raised within a fortnight. For some time, best coal has been selling at from seven to eight shillings, while-the miners are said a hewing rate, based on the selling price at nine shillings. The miners are taking action, in view of thin development, to secure an advance of eigktpence on tkeir presen rate.
