At the wool sales there were sold for Home consumption sixty-seven thousand five hundred bales, for the Continent forty-live thousand, and for America eleven thousand, seven thousand being held over. All classes . closed at tbe highest prices of the series. Compared with January closing rates ekoioo Merinos advanced five per cent, medium Seven and a half to ten, faulty fully ten, fine to medium crossbreds fully ten, medium to coarse iwelve and a half to Uflecn, scoureds ten to fifteen, Merino lambs, fine crossbreds fifteen. The primary causes of the improvement are increased consumption and legitimate demand. The only danger of the situation is lhat Ihe high prices may check business.
