EGG-LAYING COMPETITION.
TEE MUSS ASSOCIATION. Bi.BNiiKist, March 24. Tlie total fur the forty-seventh week of the New Zealand Egg-Laying Association Competition was 1271 eggs, making n grand aggregate of 83,014 and the weekly average per pen 12'71. The highest layings for the week were: Alexandra Poultry Company's White Rocks, 27; Ashworth's Silver Wyandottes, Christchurch, 26; Mrs Love's Silver Wyandottes, Christchurch, 21; Edward's White Plymouth Bocks, Blenheim, 24 The order of the aggregate now runs as follows (tho first five pons consisting of White Leghorns): H. Legor, Levin, 1,320; Brooks, South Australia, 1,162; Marlborough A. and P. Association, 1,158; Jonathan Hodson, Blenheim, 1,157; Miss Mick Shaw, Blenheim, 1.110; Hockey (Brown Leghorns), Nelson, 1,116. The number of competitors now above one thousand is sixteen. Brooks lias regained second place from the Marlborough A and P. Association. On Wednesday last Brooks, the Association, and Hodson, were on the same mark, each being 1,152. The running for second place is an exciting contest.
