Dr Blair, resideut physician al the hospital, said that the cause of death was fracture of the base of the skull. He had nude a minute examination for electrical burns, but found no recent marks on the body. Alfred McGuire, driver of the tramway's'emergonoy waggon, said the deceased was not wearing' gloves, and uccidently put bis right hand on the trolley wire. Immediately ho shouted, ', " Its got me," turned right arjund and i foil to the ground, a distance of twenty feet. If Boyd had worn rubber gloves, which were provided by the Company, the accident would not have happened. Mickwell I?. Carey, Tramway Company's engineer, said that deceased
iiad been engaged in overhead repair-
ing for a year, and was ordinarily a careful man. Deliuite instructions were given that live wires should not bo handled without the use of rubber gloves which were supplied to " emergency men" such as deceased. If gloves were reported defective, a new pair would bo at once supplied. There had been no previous accident of the kind on the system. The. jury returned a verdict of " accidentally killed."
