A motion was adopted that in the opinion of the Hoard, the Commissioners findings (a) Unit the Orphanage has been improperly managed and controlled, and (b) That the allegations of the absence of moral training was proved, and thai the change of lack of example and inlluence was true, were not borne out by the evidence adduced at the enquiry ; ills" thill il was tile duly of the Slate to look after its children, and the Hoard asked the Government to take the necessary steps to carry it into effect during tho next session of Portianieiil. lhi' Board resolved to retain llie orphanage as a receiving home, and to advertise for a new matron.
