SHADY LAND TRANSACTIONS
UmstiANii, March 17. Application was made to the Chief Justice by Mrs Willis for probate of a will under which sho was appointed trustee for her son in the matter of twenty thousand acres of land at Ciinnamulla. The Chief Justice said the circum* stances of the easy were peculiar. Mrs Willis is the wife of Willis, concerned in the land transactions in New South Wales, and already holds three blocks of twenty thousanl acres adjoining the one she soeks control of under tho will. The Act limits the holding of graz* ing lands to sixty thousand acres. Tho witnesses to tlic will are Messrs Hoskings and McXai.r whose names arc also well-known.
Tho Chief Justice held that the circumstances wore so suspicious he must adjourn the application for further investigation.
WILLIS' EXTRADICTION. FURTHER PROCEEDINGS. Hcccivcd 19,12.12 a.m. PiUTHiiMAKiTziiußa, March 18. Willis is appealing to tho Supremo Court of Natal against tho Majjistratc's decision that ho has no jurisdiction under the Fugitive Offenders Act.
