TARANAKI JOCKEY CLUB.
A special committee meeting of the Taranaki Jockey Club was held 011 Friday night, a lot of business of minor importance being transacted. An application by J, Duff for a jockey's license was not entertained. Applications for the removal of disqualifications imposed for taking part in an unregistered meeting were received from E. Putt, C, H, Ardeu, L, F. Laurent, W. Houeylicld (and pony Queenie), H. E. Putt, Ernest Putt (and horse Sweet Sylvia), and it was resolved that the disqualifications be removed, the necessary 12 months having elapsed. The action of the Chairman in granting the Stratford Racing Club the fees received from gentlemen riders' certificates towards procuring trophies was continued.
The programme of the Egmont Racing Club Winter Meeting was passed, subject to the dates of entrances and nominations (which had been omitted) being forwarded.
It was moved as a recommendation to the Stewards that advisory stewards be appointed to officiate at the Autumn Meeting.
It was decided that the notice re bookmakers not being allowed on the racecourse lie advertised.
A jockey's license was grunted to 1! L. Nash.
Advice was received front the proprietors of the double event totalisator accepting the tonus offered by the Club. It was resolved to work the machine on the second and fifth events on each day's programme, namely the First Heck Handicap and Taranaki Cup tie first day, and the Third Hack Hack Handicap and Autumn Handicap on the second day.
