STRATFORD RACES.

SECOND DAY. (By Our Special Reporter.) Glorious weather prevailed for the concluding day's racing of the Stratford Racing Club. The track was in splendid order and the racing of an interesting character. The bookmakers were again in evidence in an adjoining paddock. A well-known horse owner was seen to approach them early in the afternoon and was ejected from the course by the stewards. The sum of £1760 was passed throughtheniachiucs, making a total for the meeting of £9673. Results:Toko Hack Wei.teh, of aOsovs.; seven furlongs. 130 F. Cooper's br m Lualla, 9.13, lyrs (R. After some delay, caused by the fracliousuess of Whakahawea and Recreation, Mr O'Coniur succeeded in gettiug the Held away in, splendid line. Showman was first into his stride, being closely attended by Bccroation and Clareniont, with Lualla last. Showman held a slight advantage entering the straight, where the field closed up. At the distance Clarcmont and Recreation we e both hard at it, the former having a slight advantage, when Barlow brought Lualla with a strong run on the outside and secured the verdict by a long neck, Recreation finishing half a length away. Also started: -IS) Lady Lancelot. Lady Lancelot caused some delay at the barrier, and had slightly the worst of the start. The field had not traversed a furlong when Lady Lancelot and Dear Dolly shot to the front. The pair were closely associated for ahsut live furlongs, when Dear Dolly cried enough. Silver Shell then came through, and stalling off a challenge from The Clipper, won fairly easily by a length. Time, 1.10 1-S. Div., £8 18s.

Also started: 97 Regulation. When the barrier rose Rustique was the llrst to find his feet, the bla;-k gelding making play round the back with Regulation close up. Rustique was still holding his own as the Held swept round the bend. Flanagan, Inglewood, Showman was the order at the lirst obstacle. Passing the stand Inglewood, Flanagan and Fishmerc comprised the leading div sion, Little Turk being some lengths in the rear. Flanagan led the field round the back stretch, but euteriug the straight luglewood was on terms with Showman. Improving his position the Workmau gelding put in his claim at the distance, and coming away secured the verdict by a length, Inglewood beating Flauagan by half-a-lcugth for second nionev. Science getting chopped out spoilt what promised to be a splendid start. When the field settled down, Gleam was in the lead, Immolation being bandy, with Science making up lost ground. Immolation, Gleam, and Science were on terms at the bend, and fought out an exciting finish, every inch of ground being cott-'sted. The judge could not separate Gleam and Immolation, and declared a dead heat. Science finished half a length away. Time lmiu 15 2-stb sec. Divs. £3 (is. and £3 17s.

Otaraoa was soon into his stride, and made play for about two furlongs when Imilta made a forward move and showed the way to the home turn. Toddy then assumed the lead and won wilh case by two lengths. Time, 1.35 3-5. Divs., £2 lis and £2 3s.

A complaint was lodged by Mr .1. Gjodnin, against Mr Crowley, the rider of Champion, on (he ground that he. was seen lo have some lead handed to him wkilerelumiugtotliccnclosurcafterlhe race. Crowley when called before the Stewards admitted such was the case, but slated the lead was dropped from his waistcoat after his horse had passed the winning post, also, thai il was picked up and handed to him quite openly by one of the men working al the starting machine. Crowley offend lo get witnesses to prove his statement, but as there appeared some diUicully in finding these when sent for, the Stewards decided to adjourn the case -until further evidence was forthcoming. In the meantime, the second dividend i« impounded.
