MSB rBESS ASSOCIATION'. Wellington, March 13. At the Police Court this afternoon, tlie Public HealtU Department procci'dcd against two Chinese fruiterers on informations charging them with having, on the previous day, exposed bananas for sale that were unlit for human consumption. An Inspector of the Department deposed that he purchased a dozen putrid bananas (produced) from each of the defendant's shops. They were taken from amongst others of a similar kind m a basket on the counters. The District Health Officer stated that he had cundemucd the fruit. Fines of £1 were imposed in each case.
