There was lovely weather for the shooting to-day, but the wind was a bit puzzling, and shooting was of no great merit. More and there a good individual seore would be found, but generally speaking it was not up lo the shooting seen here in previous years. In the Otago Match, Fellow, Waipawa, got within one of the possible at 000 yds, and Drunimond, Dannevirke, did similarly at 700 yds. At 1000 yds, in the Canterbury Match, there were many bursts, and here Marett, who had the load far the Belt, only got on four of liis shots for 13, and fell away back. Wliitmg, X'araparaumu, put on the best snore, 31, while MeMurray, Palmerston North, followed with 28. Winslade, ;who rose with 25, shot into the lead for the Belt. He challenged his last shot and got a "bullseye." The position of the others iB also changed. Irvine, Nelson, who got 27, shot into second place. During the afternoon a conplo of Volunteer Matches were fired.
