NEW HEBRIDES AGREEMENT
HIGHLY SATISFACTORY SET. TLEMENT. Received 1, -1.17 p.m. London, March 3. The New Hebrides agreement com. prises fifty articles. Britain mid France retain power over their own people. The administrative rights of both are unchanged and none have been surrenderel. There will be in division of the Islands and neither assumes any independent con. trol. The most important provision is the creation of courts, with British and t 1 reiicih Judges, each administering it* own subjects. A special tribunal presided over by a third Judge will be appointed by a friendly power to deal with land claims. This definition of judicial rights ends the deadlock in connection ivith lh<' punishment of offenders.
