Tlio Kaiser in reply said:—"My first and last thought is for my lighting forces on land and sea. The Empress' constant endeavour is to work for the alleviation of want and sickness. May God grant that war may not come. If it should come I am firmly convinced the army will acquit itself as in 1870."
