Received 20, 12.2S a.m. Svdxkv, JVhrvary 25. _ It having been asserted that arrangoment has been made to renew the \ uncover Mail Contract with New Zealand as a partner, Mr .las. Mills, Managing Director of the Co., states that taking .Sir Joseph Ward s presence in Melbourne as opportune, he (Mills) interviewed Mr 1 Peacon and Ihe Federal Postmaster on the subject, but nothing resulted to lead to the anticipation that New Zealand would be joined as a partner, l'he mutter, however, was still receiving consideration I'rum the Federal Government.
