ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
I'Elt I'ItESS ASSOCIATION. CaitisTCHUBCH, February 24. At an inquest held to-day touching the death of the newly-born illegitimate child whoso body was found in an outhouse in St. Asaph-street last night, evidence was giveD that death was due to suffocation and a verdict was returned accordingly, the jury adding that there was no evidence to show how the fatality occurred. Wellington, February 24. The body of a woman was found on the railway cattle stops near the Government Bailway Station. It is surmised that she was crossing the line last night and was knocked down by a passing train. A bag found close iby bore the name "Katie Freuch. Lower Hutt. The body of the woman found 011 the railway has been identified as that of Mrs Emma French, wife of Oscar French, painter, Lower Hutt.
