RIFLE SHOOTING ASSOCIATION.
The Committee met at the Drill Hall onSalurdiy evening to receive entries for the Forthcoming meelng, lo be held at the licwa Rewa range on Wednesday and Thursday next. The entries received were not quite up to cspecItaliou for such a liberal programme, but additional returns have ye! lo come from the country. The latter, with post entries ou the ground, will, however, make a good meeting, aud the committee hope by giving every satisfaction this year, to merit greater support on future occasions. The matter of arranging for the supply of lunch on the 'round, with extras such as fruit, smokes, anil soft drinks, was referred to the secretary.
All out wide competitors will be paid in full at the close of tlie 111atfl1.es. Two large marquees will be procurred, ami signalling Hags are to be erected at various points all along the range, Markers were appointed, and other necessary details arranged. It was decided to ask the Garrison Hand to supply music on Thursday afternoon, and if their consent is obtained, the public will lie invited to visit the range oil the half holiday. Now that long range shooting is indulged ill, probably many of the shots ot days gone by will be interested, and the rapid shooting matches will no doubt cause great interest. These and the (ire-oil' for championship will take place on Thursday. His Worship the Mayor will be asked to open the meeting.
