Mr T. C. List, proprietor and editor ol this journal, was married on Wednesday to Miss Bremer, daughter of Mr I'. A. Bremer, the well known S uitli Taranaki farmer. The service, which was largely attended, was preside 1 over by the Rev J. D. Russell, vicav of St. Augustine, l'ctoi.e Amongst Ihe hundred odd presents received was a valuable marble clock, the gift of the inombers of the staff of the " Daily News," to Mr List, Mr Edgar 11. Carter, son of Mr C. Carter, of Nc.v Plymouth, who has for the past fourxir live months been in the service of Messrs Wardell Bros., in Wellington, has received an important engagement in Mr H. Gibson's Patea warehouse. His many friends will be pleased to learn ot his advancement. On Wednesday afternoon, Captain Hood, acting on behalf of the Harbor Hoard's staff at l/foturoa, presented Mr S. Round, the acting-clerk, with a very handsome marble clock and a valuable scarf-pin, as a token of the esteem in which he is held, and ,as a symbol of tho donors' good wishes towards him on the occasion of his marriage, _ Mr W. H. MeGarry, auctioneer, of Eltham, was iu New Plymouth yesterday, and returned home by this morning's mail train.
