FIRE IN A MINE.
Stdney, February 13. A fire broke out iu the Junction mine „t. Broken Hill.
I A flint nas fired at the 550 level, and it is supposed a spark set lire to splintered timbers iu that pari of the mine where a creep occurred iiiue years ago. Pungent siuokc compelled the ovarii, atiou of the mine. It also penetrated the workings of the British mine, and stopped work. Strenuous efforts were made to cope with the fire. UNDER CONTROL. Received 17,1.6 a.m. Sydney, February 16. The lire in the Junction Mine is still burning, but in under control. I
