Mr IS T . If. Melsaae, who has been transferred trom the New Plymouth lost OHico to Christchurch, left on Wednesday. The previous afternoon Mrs J. Paul gave an "At Home "in his honor, and a large number of people mot to say farewell. On behalf of members of the choir and church, the Kev Osborne presented Mr Melsaae with a handsome sovereign case and rug. The post and telegraph staff also presented Mr Melsaae with a silvermounted pipe and tobacco pouch.
Mr P. M. B. Fisher, arrived e "' I'lymnulli by mail tram on ,)) cdnesday night. to compete in the lenms Tournament, which opens totljiy.
