LONDON MARKET REPORT. Messrs Bewloy and Grillilhs. dairy produce exporters, New Plymouth, are in receipt of the following market report from their London principals, Messrs Mills and Sparrow, dated 20th December, 1905 : Butter.—Trade all over the country has beeu exceptionally good, and retailers have done a good business in anticipation of Christmas. The weather during the holidays has been line and open ; this enables the masses to get abo.it easily, and more money is in consequence spent. Everything looks most hopeful. Danish. —The quotation, in consequence of the good demand, has advanced -I krohcrs. Everything choice sells readily. French.—No change in quotations, a ,'ood steady consumptive demand continues.
Russian. —The few which have come to hand opened up very well, and have pleased. Quantity is small. Australian.—Butters ex '• China" and " Geelong" are now coining to band, and condition is good, both steamers having brought their cargo in fine order. Salted is clearing well at full rates, but unsalted is dragging, and it looks as if lower prices will have to be taken to clear. This applies to Victorian, N.S.Wales, aud Queensland. New Zealand. —" Kunmra " butters arc being discharged from the steamer, but very few prices are being settled until the butters actually land. Market is very strong. Cheese '■ — There are more enquiries, and prices are firm. (jI'OTATIONS. The quotations now stand at 118s to 1275. SHEEP FA IK. PER press association.. Aitkland, February 13, The first sheep fair of the season was held to-day, with a large attendance of buyers, and the sheep sent in compared very favorably with those offered last year. The price of ewes was slightly better, but wethers were pretty much the same, and satisfactory prices were realised. Lincoln ewes from C. T. Barribull, of Waiuku. brought 2os and crossbred wethers from J. O'Neil were sold at 17s I'd. The highest priced ram (Lincoln) sold was Si guineas from C. T. Barriball, Waiuku, to J. Morrison. Lambs sold to 12s.
