It appears Unit his wife had been ill, and accused gut her to go to Sydney for a trip. Meanwhile, he bok up with a young woman, putting himself oil' as a single mail. Oil his wife's return she met ac(■useil in the street with this woman, and the same evening defendant disappeared, and was arrested at Masterton, where he was living with the woman as her husband. In passing sentence Dr McArthur snicl" You are nothing less than an unmitigated scoundrel," and gave him the full term of six mouths. Head is a man of -D years, with four children. Albert John livcrctt, who was about to leave the eolony, and leave his young wife without support, was also sentenced to six months' imprisonment.
