Bishop Neligan, who has ljjen visiting the southern portion of his diocese, returned to Auckland by Monday uight's steamer.
At a special meeting of the Loyal Egmont Lodge, 1.0.0. F., on Monday uight, P.G. Henry T. Aiusworth was unanimously elected to the position of permanent secretary, vice Mr W. Bennett (deceased). The Rev. Clias. Butler, a passenger for New Zealand by the Medic, died on the voyage and was buried at sea. Messrs Michael Joseph and William Laurence, business manager and touring manager respectively of the William Anderson well-known entertainers, visited New Plymouth on Monday. They are arranging for a brief visit of their combination to New Plymouth. A press wire from Palmerston North states that Fathers Kynions and Bowden were farewclled on Monday uight at a large gathering, and each was presented witli an address and a purse of sovereigns.
