He had uo intention of injuring her, but when discovered, in the madness of fear, he stabbed her and again hid under the bed during the commotion following the discovery of the crime. He afterwards managed * to make his way downstairs and escape by a window.
FURTHER DETAILS. GREAT FEROCITY. Received 3,12.7 a.m. Svdnf.y, February 2. The attack was made with great ferocity. Mrs Gregory had terrible wounds on her he il and on manyparts of her body. Quiohu alunst severed two of his own fingers. Sonio of Mrs Gregory's jewellery was missed prior to the murder and was discovered iu Quintan's room. There are indications that he planned the robbery and bought the sheath knife.
