Millurd, a Member of the Legis. lative Assembly, in November last, was convicted of larcency of live pounds, the properly of a client. Owing to the circumstances of tho case a special investigation was held. As a result, Millard to-day was sen. tenced to six mouths' hard labour. Tho sentence was suspended under the First Offenders Act. The Judge said that accused, during a reckless departure from sobriety, kept the money, but unconverted it to his own use. Since then, Millard had turned over a new leaf.
