SENSATIONAL TRAGEDY.
WOMAN STABBED BY A BOY. A YOUTHFUL ROBBER. Received 2, 12.50 a.m. - Svuxkv, February 1. A sensational tragedy has been reported. Mrs Gregory, the wife of a Coolgtodie publican, staying at the Koyal Hotel, was heard to utter u piercing scream, which immediately brought an employee to her room. She was found kneoiing beside ker bed, stabbed in the b.uist and buck. There were uo less tli in nine wounds. A sheath knife, by (he side of some articles of clothing belonging to a hotel lift-boy named Thomai Quintan, aged fifteen, was discovered in the room. Quiiihin was arrestel in bed at his home, and confessed. The police arc reticent, but it in understood he stales that Mrs Gregory left her room door open, and ho entered with the intention of robbery. She wo.ke, aud he slabbed her and fled.
