At a meeting of the Chrisldiurch Cricket Council to-night, the Conimittcc iippointeil to cii(|uire into the alleged watering of the wicket during the Otago - Canterbury match reported, after hearing evidence, that they bad unanimously come to the conclusion tLnt the wicket had not been watered or tampered with iii any w ay whatever. The umpires for the match slate they are completely satislicd that the rolling of the wieket"after the rum which fell during the morning was quite sullicient to account for the damp appearance thereof. The report was adopted.
