A POLICE INSPECTOR FIKED UPON. Received 21, 12.15 a.m. Sydney, January 23. An old man named Shannon, who had been deprived of his old age pension because it was found that he had not been sufficiently long in the State, lired three shots at 3lr Boland* a Police Magistrate at Hillston, wounding him twice, but not seriously. Shannon then blew his own brains out.
