W.iNniNi'i, January 22. The Wauganui Caledonian Society held their 23rd annual sporls to-day. The weather was beautiful, and there was a large attendance. There was an unusually keen competition in the piping and dancing events, competitors coming from Southland, Dimediu and Hawkc's Bay. C. Smith and McKechuie, were the most successful in dancing, ami 0. Cameron carried oft' the prizes for piping. The athletic and cycling events were well contested.
