THE SOUTH 110 AD ULI.'U. The newly formed South ltoad Club, New Plymouth, opened its season on Thursday afternoon. The courts are situated at the l"vcly grounds, "Heidelberg," Mr W. Dixon's residence. In the absence of the Patron (Mr H. Cock, Mayor), the President IMr Dixon), in a happy speech, declared the courts open, his juvenile sun, "lioy," propelling the first ball lover the net.
Sets were I lion formed and some interesting games indulged in. Afternoon tea was provided and dispensed li,y tin- lady momliers, and u very enjoyaMe afternoon generally was snout.
