Most of the nil side horses engaged at the Wellington meeting have put in an appearance at headquarters. Putty arrived ou Friday morning, and was seen out on the Hutt track on Saturday. He is reported to be looking very well. A'ladimir arrived on Saturday in charge of J. Rutledge. Inglcneuk galloped four furlongs ou the grass in 52sec. Martian was sent a mile and a quarter, once round taking 2.2. Cuneiform trotted and cantered. Nightfall, with a lightweight up, galloped nine furlongs on the tan, once round taking 1.52, and the last mile 1.42. Glenowlet has shown signs of un. soundness, and may not start at the meeting. " Advance," of the " N.Z. Times" writes:—" In the absence of Kurriemuir, the Wellington Stakes looks a good thing for Cuneiform." WHANGAREI R.C. MEETING.
