The committee, after due consideration, decided to depart from the custom of holding the selections in the theatre, as it would bo iml>o'ssiblo to seat the people in the limited accommodation, The innovation will 110 douht meet the wishes of the public, as it will allow one and all to hoar the selections at the moderate charge ot Is. In a case of this kind it is better to deal with thousands at a low price of admission, than with hundreds at the usual theatre prices. Tenders have been called for the erection of a large band rotunda, and Messrs Steuarl and Fenn have already the work in hand for lighting the grounds With electricity to a total of 10,000 candle power. The grounds when lighted will form a picture in itself, all buildings being outlined with coloured lights and arc lamps of 1500 candlepower will be distributed all over the grounds. This will be the first instance in Taranaki of grounds being so lighted. The caterers, Messrs Keen ami Co. will provide the public: with supper at reasonable rates, and everything points to success without a Haw.
