• FURTHER LIGHT. ' EVIDENCE FOR THE DEFENCE. Received 11,11,15 p.m. Sydney, January 11. The hearing of tho conspiracy case arising out of the will of the latoCaptain Lindfors was continued to-day when evidenco for the defence wascommenced. ' Camper, a law clerk, in Burchcr'fP , oflice, deposed that he prepared all documents in the case under Burcher'st instructions. There was not a word ift the deed to show that there was anything wrong with Captain Lindiora' will. Rochester's only connection with tho case was the raising of money for passages' expenses to New Ze&l&ni, Burehor made a lengthy statement detailing his legal connection with tie case, and the steps taken in New Zea* laud to prove that whoa the trouble arose over the expenses of witnesses, Bureher told Wilson lie would hare nothing to do with a case whero witnesses were paid to give evidence. He denied ever suggesting to Mrs Beimor to commit perjury. It was never suggested to him, nor did ho suspect thtfc the will was a forgery. His whole teution was directed to tho fact, not. as to whother Captain Lindfors signfid the will, but as to whether the two witnesses were present when he diil it. Mrs Reinier told him that she did. not waut to give evidence in New Zealand because she did not desire to be examined as to her relations, with. Captain Lindfors.
