A DETECTIVE'S EXPERIENCE. Adelaide, January 11. Detective Northridge had a desperate <atounter with an escaped criminal tunatie named George Brown, who was also wanted for burglary and shooting a man. > T orthridge met Brown in the street j ani covered him with a revolver. Brum grabbed the revolver hand , ud tried to turn it on to the detective, Daring tie struggle six shots wen fired harmlessly. Sorthridge then snatched a second revolver out of Brown's poekct. The latter clutched the revolver, and a further fierce struggle ensued, dttrin; which more shots were fired, none tnk ing effect. Eventually the detective, thou«l. ■ cut and bruised, secured his P., prisoner'/ ... . Brown iV A notorious criminal and has a long list of convictions, including one of manslaughter.
