In the conspiracy case, Dempster, an Adelaide solicitor, acting for Captain Lindfors' nephew, a beneßciary under the original will, stated that he came to Sydney in March, to make enquiries about the will in Mrs Reimer's favour. He got a written statement from Mi's White to the effect that when Lindfors was ill in Mrs Reimer's house they got him to make a will, White writing it according to Lindfors instructions. Lindfors, White, and Cato signed the will, which was given to Mrs Reimers, Captain Lindfors saying that if he, returned he would claim it, and if not she was to hand it to a solicitor. Dempster afterwards saw Rochester, who said that if he would pay what she asked she would overthrow Reimers will and get White and Cato out of the way. Dempster declined to have anything to do with keeping them out of the way. Rochester subsequently declared his offer off, because Dempster insisted on having witness pr«sent at any further interviews.
