THE PATRIOTIC AND MEMORIAL FUNDS.
TO TIIH Kinron. Sir, —r noticed by your report of tlu> Borough Council proceedings of lust Monday night that the Mayor had received anonymous letters making enquiries about the New Plymouth Patriotic Fund and the Troopers* Memorial Fund. Would you kindly alloiy me space to inform the Mayor's coi'pcspondonts through your columns that as ho did not contribute to the Ntnv Plymouth Patriotic. Fund nor has he yet contributed to the Troopers' Memorial Fund, it follows, therefore, that he is not connected with the management of either Fund. As chairman of both Funds I will bo most hnppy to give full information to these correspondents on the matter. I will loavo it to the Mayor to explain why he sought information from the members of the Borough Council instead of going direct to the members of the executive of tlie > T e*v Plymouth Patriotic Fund anil Troopers' Memorial Fund.—l am, etc., E, DoCKBILt.
