An election to fill a vacancy on tho New Plymouth Borough Council takes place on 30th inst. Nominations close on 24th inst. The Taranaki Garrison Band holds n promenade concert in the Drill Hall, New Plymouth, on 18th inst. The Stratford Caledonian Society's sports eventuate on 25th January.
