Mr G. H. White, of New Plymou t h who has achieved a reputation as a shorthand reporter to musical judges at band contests, has been retained in this capacity for the foi'theon' ; ng bund coutest at Hawera. Mr A. E. Sykes, the well-known New Plymouth chemist, is at present on a visit to the Commonwealth Dr. Harvey, of Waverley, is about to take a trip to the Old Country, where he will make himself acquainted with the latc.it in surgery and medical science. Mr Allen, secretary of tho Wellington Industrial Association, has been appointed secretary of the committee appointed by the Wellington connection of tho Industrial Exhibition.
