Five Amcricttii battleships, which were leaving New York Bay, got into a tangle, it is supposed, owing to carelessness. The speed of the vosscls at the time was excessive. The fairway was narrow. The battleships, Kentucky and Kear sage, went aground, whilst the Alabama collided and (lain a god the ITpn. tucky and herself. The Kentucky was sent to Brooklyn for repairs. An enquiry has been ordered.
