The. deputafion said that large numbers of Italinns were finding their ray to the goldficlds, it was believed under contract.

Senator Play ford said the deputation had made out a prima facie case, though he did not sec how they could prove that the men were imported under contract. Ho would bring the matter under the notice of the Gorernment.
