HOMING NEWS.

The North Island Federation Race was flown from Russell, Bay of Islands, on Thursday, December 21st, the following of the leading Clubs competed, Palmerston North, Wanganui, Wellington, Sapier, Hastings, New Plymouth, sending a total of 18 birds to compete. Mr K, Pounsford, of the Auckland Homing Society stamped the birds, previous to their being dispatched to Russell, the birds were liberated at 5.30 a.m., with wind S.W., but although the we.ithor was fine at Russell and Auckland, the conditions at 3ew Plymouth were very unfavorable, a strong wind with heavy rain prevailing, the race resulted as follows :
